Author, alumnus to visit UNO

A University of Nebraska at Omaha alumnus who went on to pen biographies of George Orwell, Graham Greene and Mark Twain will speak on campus this month.

Michael Shelden's March 25 lecture is part of UNO's Centennial Speaker Series, which celebrates the campus' 100th birthday.

Shelden is a 1973 graduate of UNO. He's now a professor at Indiana State University.

His book “Orwell: The Authorized Biography” was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1991. His latest book is “Mark Twain: Man in White.”

Shelden's talk is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Thompson Alumni Center. It's free and open to the public.
