Boredom Busters

Homemade Play-Dough

What you need:

1 cup water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ cup salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
food coloring
1 cup flour

What to do:

Put water, oil, salt, cream of tartar and food coloring in a saucepan. Stir well. Heat until warm.

Remove from heat and stir in flour. Knead until dough is smooth.

Store dough refrigerated in an air-tight plastic container or zipper-closed storage bag when not in use. Dough will last several months if stored this way. Recipe can be doubled.

Variation: Use vegetable or fruit juice instead of food coloring.
