PRAIRIE VIEW
High numbers of small bluegill make this a good fishing lake for children.
Location: West of 180th Street and Nebraska Highway 36
Lake size: 42 acres
Recreation area size: 84 acres
Year opened: 2002
Water quality: Excellent
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish
Bag limits: Catch and release for bass, 10 bluegill and three catfish

GLENN CUNNINGHAM
Fishery is open, but most fish are smaller in size and must be released. High-use regulations apply.
Location: 96th and State Streets
Lake size: 390 acres
Recreation area size: 1,048 acres
Year opened: 1977
Species: Bluegill, channel catfish, bass, walleye and crappie

STANDING BEAR
Contains a much larger carp population than the other NRD lakes. The bluegill, catfish and bass populations are poor. There are high numbers of 7- and 8-inch crappie, and there is no length limit. Rainbow trout are stocked each fall and winter.
Location: 132nd Street and Military Avenue
Lake size: 135 acres
Recreation area size: 550 acres
Year opened: 1977
Water quality: Poor
Fish species: Carp, largemouth bass, crappie, freshwater drum, walleye, bluegill, catfish and rainbow trout during fall and winter

ZORINSKY
Good numbers of bass more than 15 inches, and the lake attracts hard-core bass fishermen. Walleye fishing should not be overlooked.
Location: 156th and F Streets
Lake size: 255 acres
Recreation area size: 768 acres
Year opened: 1993
Water quality: Very good
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill, bullhead, crappie, channel and blue catfish and walleye
Size and bag limits: 21-inch minimum for bass, 10-inch minimum for crappie (no size limit during April) and 10 panfish daily

WEHRSPANN
High numbers of crappie, but only one in 10 are keepers. Walleye recently have been stocked to help keep the crappie population in check.
Location: 154th Street and Giles Road
Lake size: 246 acres
Recreation area size: 940 acres
Year opened: 1988
Water quality: Very good
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, blue and channel catfish, walleye and bullhead
Size and bag limits: 21-inch minimum for bass, 10-inch for crappie (no size limit during April) and 10 panfish daily

WALNUT CREEK
This is the area's best fishing lake. Trees were left in the lake bed when it was being built. Two islands also were constructed to create habitat for fish.

Lake size: 100 acres
Recreation area size: 450 acres
Year opened: 1999
Water quality: Excellent
Fish species: Largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish and sunfish.
Size and bag limits: 21-inch minimum for bass, 10-inch minimum for crappie, 8-inch minimum for sunfish and 10 panfish daily

CARTER
Good early spring and late fall fishery for pan-sized channel catfish and some keeper crappie.
Location: Abbott Drive and Carter Lake Boulevard
Lake size: 300 acres
Recreation area size: 520 acres
Year opened: 1908
Water quality: Poor, depending upon algae alerts
Fish species: Bluegill, buffalo, bullhead, carp, channel and blue catfish, crappie, drum, largemouth bass and walleye

LAWRENCE YOUNGMAN
To open fall 2009. Concrete boat ramp and no-wake, 5-mph boating. Excellent fishing for bluegill, channel catfish and especially largemouth bass.
Location: 192nd Street and West Dodge Road
Lake size: 60 acres
Year built: 2006
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish

SHADOW
New lake, stocked in 2007. High-use fishing regulations apply. No-wake, 5-mph boating.
Location: Washington and Capehart Road, Papillion
Lake size: 30 acres
Year stocked: 2007
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish

MIDLANDS
Connected to Shadow Lake. High-use fishing regulations apply. No-wake, 5-mph boating. Stocked in 2007.
Location: Washington and Capehart Road, Papillion
Lake size: 11 acres
Year stocked: 2007
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish

BENNINGTON
Limited public access. Special limits apply. No ice fishing.
Location: 180th Street and Bennington Road
Lake size: 270 acres.
Fish species: Largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish
